A comic image with a man and a boy sitting together on a couch holding game controllers. The boy is a small white boy with curly dark red hair, freckles, healthy flush to his skin and light brown eyes. he's wearing a purple Hoodie with a cat ice cream cone and sprinkles on it, has purple painted nails, and an awed respectful expression on his face. there is a sense of Killie and Charlie to him but actually the more obvious resemblance is to their father Bill; he also has lighter brown eyes. next to him sits Derek, a large friendly normal-looking guy in a Boston University hoodie. he has glasses and a beard and a knitted beanie. he is very handsome and also quite ordinary. the boy says "waow..... eleventh place." Derek says sympathetically, "I'm sorry , buddy. you have to focus to do better."
the excited-looking boy, Charlie's kid Miles, says several things at once, indicated by overlapping speech bubbles. "aaah! that was the best I've ever done! that was awesome! I loved the bit where I fell off the road. wow. can we play again?" Derek says fondly, "aw miles, you have SUCH a good attitude" with a little heart. he's a fabulous uncle. in the next panel we see Charlie and Killie experiencing the horrors. Charlie looks like he's in pain and Killie's brain has simply left the building. Derek says "so much better than your uncle Killie. and honestly, your papa too." miles says, "can we play again?" and Derek replies "of course." as we ponder Killie's face we note the operating system error informing us that Killie.exe has stopped working, with options "miles how" and "miles why." Charlie says "miles" in a hollow tone and then weakly adds, "please." it's clear that witnessing this slow-motion failure to achieve anything in a pretend race has held some load-bearing part of their psyches hostage.

Hello! I’ve been reading your tumblr regularly but don’t have an (active) account there so i’m contacting you through here in non-horseboy-related matters. I recently read a news article about an escaped falconry hawk that terrorized an english village, attacking some fifty people. Anyway, in the end he was caught humanely and is now in good hands. This story felt very elodie-coded to me so i wanted to share it (cw for blood in one of the photos): https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/clywdlyv4p3o

Killie?

He’s a small, angry, and entirely fictional racehorse jockey with an unfortunate psychic connection to his rancid racehorse frenemy (O Holy Thunder), a redemption-arc relationship with his nice nerdy boyfriend (Derek), an elusive twin brother (Charlie) and a messy, rambling family of horse-obsessed weirdos who are overly-invested in the fascinating, complex, dirty, problematic and unhinged world of horse racing.

He is a short athletic ginger jock like an angry little wet cat, who is always getting injured, and we love him for this.

He is a terrible person. But he is so, so loved.
